Program Changes

  • The required service hours were raised from 18 to 20.
  • The required fellowships were raised from 6 to 7.
  • The required CAW hours were raised from 10 to 12 hours.
  • The strikes policy introduced in McKenzie Term was changed to allow a maximum of 3 strikes from the original 4 strikes.
  • Service hour tracking was reverted to the positive requirement system introduced during Jaromay Term, where missing a service project adds to your total requirement rather than subtracting from the total number of hours you are tracked for.
  • Service project evaluations were done through Survey Monkey as opposed to filling out a sheet to make evaluations easier and to allow anyone to evaluate a project as opposed to only the chair.
  • Sunshine Chairs were removed.
  • Active Leadership Workshop (ALW) was removed.
  • Sneak was replaced with a new activity due to UCD Student Housing's safety concerns with the nature of the activity.
  • Pledge Parents implemented a blog to update the chapter with matters regarding the pledge program.
  • A Chapter Blog was created to feature articles about the chapter's development.
  • Corresponding Secretaries began exchanging videos with other chapters over the internet to promote Interchapter events.
  • Pledge Parents restricted alumni from picking up sponsorees, fearing they could not commit as much time as actives and associates. The process of checking who could be given a sponsoree at Initiation made the event much longer than usual.
  • Ms. APhiO was henceforth cancelled for all chapters in the region, as directed by the Regional Director Henson Brodsky for risk management reasons because someone at another chapter posted pictures of the event online.
  • Alumni Secretaries created an Alumni Blog for alumni to update the chapter with news about themselves, to give advice, or promote their service-related endeavors.
  • Membership Vice Presidents and Fellowship Vice Presidents worked together to create the first ever Active Lock-In, a fellowship meant to foster brotherhood among actives. This fellowship replaced prior attempts at Active Retreats, since such retreats typically had poor turn-out or were very difficult to schedule. It featured multiple bonding activities and a Roundtable to discuss chapter issues.
  • Membership Vice Presidents began hosting roundtables for actives to discuss chapter issues amongst themselves by bringing up concerns, suggestions, or just speaking their mind about topics.
