Talk:Toast Song
OK question about the chapter these days and the toast song. Does Iota Phi sing it the official way or do they sing "true to..."? The other thing I remember seeing was Kalen trying to get the chapter to do this arm flapping thing during the last half of the second verse that he copied off of Mu Zeta. It seemed to be catching on at that time. We just rocked side to side. How does it go today? --RogerClark 15:52, 11 Jul 2005 (PDT)
- We sing it like this. Hehehe... And we do the rocking thing now, but at "Now we raise..." we do almost like a hand-shaking motion all around the circle. I learned the hard way (at a Gamma Gamma activation) that we're the only ones who seem to do it. Some people put a lil more into it and jump up and down while they "shake hands." It used to be a trademark of Steph Liu and her family line, but now a bunch of people do it. Sabellachan 15:55, 11 Jul 2005 (PDT)
- Steph Liu? We brought that stuff back from New Orleans, you better look at thuong for the source. Iphi not only sways, but also does some jumping, and even busts out the refrains (just like the national choir). Aaron 17:35, 11 Jul 2005 (PDT)
Eh, Kalen brought the hand shaking/flapping motion from Mu Zeta, and much as I tried to discourage it, I failed apparently. So, does Gamma Gamma still get all obnoxious singing the word "true to" still?
- I have no clue. They sing it to a much different tempo, that's what I'm sure about... And they end it with the hand sign and the motto, at least during the activation... Sabellachan 22:56, 11 Jul 2005 (PDT)
- Gamma Gamma does true to, so does Gamme Beta. The handsign is an SF + Gammas dealy. I do like that our current version has been judged harmful to pledges of other chapters by unknown parties. Aaron 01:18, 12 Jul 2005 (PDT)
Anyone see Rho Rho's Toast Song? They do a little twist thingy at the end... Like, they keep their hands in position after crossing them, and then twist their body to make them straight again. It's kinda cool. Dunno if it's a so-cal thing.
Btw... how do you edit the talk pages w/ having your user name thing at the end?
- On any page, you can press the second to last button above the edit window labelled Your Signature with Time Stamp and it will put it in there, Or you can type --~~~~ and it does the same thing.--RogerClark 08:34, 12 Jul 2005 (PDT)
