Sectional Conference
A Sectional Conference, otherwise known as Sectionals, typically occurs twice each year. Similar to Regional Conferences, a section conference focuses on developing ties throughout a section, developing the leadership and service potentials and resources of the chapters in attendance, and carrying out sectional business at business meetings.
In Section 4, both Fall and Spring Section Conferences, follow the same basic layout. They begin with an opening ceremony and welcoming of the brothers, moves onto various workshops, a break for lunch, more workshops, and then a section business meeting. After that, a banquet follows, typically with a speech by the Section Chair, and then Roll Call performed by the chapters in the Section. The various activities at Sectionals often follow a theme selected by the hosting chapter.
Oftentimes Section 4 elects not to have a proper Fall Conference in favor of a Fall Fellowship, a large sectional gathering for a full day of fellowship events without a business meeting. Section 1 and Section 2 typically host a joint Section Fellowship Conference in the Fall and a Section Leadership Conference in the Spring.
In Spring, the section business meeting includes voting on where the next two sectionals will take place, as well as who the Section Chair will be until the next Spring Conference. Voting is conducted by two delegates from every chapter in the section that is in good standing.
