The Iota Phi quilt was created for Section 4's fall 2004 conference at Zeta, Stanford University. The theme for that term's Sectionals was "APhi-hoe down," so it was decided that every chapter should bring a quilt to represent themselves.

Because her Yahoo e-mail was temporarily routing her Iota Phi e-mails to bulk mail (which she always deleted without reading), Jackie Huynh did not know of this quilt requirement until Stephanie Liu decided to come up to her, three days before Sectionals, and say, "Jackie! Make us a quilt!" Dumbfounded, Jackie asked why. Then Steph explained, and the task was left up to Jackie...

Jackie's always helpful lil bro, Jennifer Lee, volunteered to help make the quilt, regardless of the fact that she did not know how to sew. Jackie taught her all her amateur sewing skills, even "monkey-style," and the task was not in the hands of, not one, but two now...

The Iota Phi quilt was finished in the mid-afternoon of the day before Sectionals. It boasted cow print fabric and was the only quilt at Sectionals that was completely sewn and had a backing.

The quilt still sits in Jackie's closet today, waiting for the day to used once again in the name of Iota Phi.
