The Iota Phi flag was created by Jackie Huynh for Section 4's spring 2004 section conference. Sectionals that term was held at Omicron Zeta at the campus of California State University, East Bay (then known as Hayward State).

Sectionals had an Olympics theme, which called for every chapter to bring a flag to the conference. Upon hearing this, it was Drew Mayen and Stephanie Liu who spearheaded the effort to convince then-new-active Jackie Huynh to utilize her prowess on her sewing machine to fabricate a flag worthy of carrying the Iphi name. Posters and banners were allowed as well, but Jackie thought that was lame. After procuring a flagpole from Target, she proceeded to make the blingiest blingin flag Iphi had ever seen...

Upon completion of the flag, Jackie stepped back and said, "Eh. Good enough."

The Iota Phi flag was proudly flown at Omicron Zeta and incited a small riot when it was unexpectedly taken from the hands of the trusted flag bearer (who wasn't minding his duties! Tsk tsk). Turns out it was a former Iphi member, Henry Mak, playing a cruel joke on his old chapter. The flag was returned, and all was well.

The Iota Phi flag also spawned Iphi's Tribute to Iwojima.

The Iota Phi flag still sits in Jackie's closet, waiting for the day to be flown proudly again.
