What the heck is a Fundraising Chair, and why is Aaron Lipton the only person to have held this position?

Prior to F2k3, fundraising was largely haphazard, done by the Service Vice Presidents for certain projects, or as surpluses posted by Fellowship. Treasurers only real fundraisers were things like service auctions.

When Iota Phi hosted sectionals, Christina Chou and later Sarah Thompson worked as fundraising chairs for the event. This was a first step towards fundraising as a chapter, but rather limited, as all the proceeds went to one event, not funding for other chapter projects.

What the fundraising chair did was what not the treasurers do. First, coordinate and plan fundraisers, both within and outside the chapter. Second, set goals for how much money should be raised, and for what, both for the current term and the next. Funds were raised for such projects as Adopt-a-Family, Spring Fling, Leadership Development Fund, and other projects.
