Who is Cthulhu?
He is not a bad person. He embodies the principles of LFS like no other mascot.
- LEADERSHIP: strong and fearless
- FRIENDSHIP: befriends a misunderstood little boy named Cartman and forms the crime fighting duo, "Coon and Friends." This shows that like APHIO, friends can come from all walks of life. Also has many other daemon friends.
- SERVICE: has the power to destroy the world, but chooses not to. This not only shows constraint and responsibility, but also the greatest service to humanity.
FAQS/Misconceptions about Cthulhu:
- Is Cthulhu an evil daemon?
- Yes, he’s a daemon, but that’s exactly why he should be our mascot. People think that just because he’s a daemon, he’s automatically a bad guy. He’s not. We should just judge him based on his merits, not on stereotypes.
- Doesn’t he eat people?
- Doesn’t domo eat baby cats? Doesn’t robin end up fighting his friends as the red x? There is always some kind of fault with all pledge mascots; at least Cthulhu only eats followers who want to be eaten.
- Isn’t he innately evil (evil by nature)?
- No, he just has a tough exterior; he’s soft and cuddly once you get to know him.
- Isn’t he the source of constant anxiety for mankind at a subconscious level?
- No, he’s just nervous to meet you.
- Isn’t he followed by evil cults? If we pick him, would that make us an evil cult?
- No.
History of past nominations
David Lac once nominated him during his pledging term. Cthulhu came up short and was runner up to Kung-Fu Panda after voting.
