Alumni Secretaries

Part of ExComm. Formerly the Alumni Chair, this position was created in Spring 2008.

Official Duties

Usually two officers whose duties are:

1.To work closely with the Iota Phi Alumni Association.

2. To maintain a contact list of alumni, and to continue to collect and to keep an up-to-date record of present addresses and phone numbers of all chapter alumni.

3. To formulate and execute a system for encouraging the participation of alumni in chapter news, events, and projects.

4. To organize at least one alumni event. (Usually the Alumni BBQ)

In Practice

The Alumni Secretaries maintain relations with alumni. To keep alumni informed about major chapter news, they try to organize an alumni gathering, usually a BBQ, every year if not every term. Alumni Banquets have been held in the past, but were inevitably too expensive to maintain. However, alumni are still invited and encouraged to attend end-of-term chapter banquets.

In Spring 2010, Alumni Secretaries Jessica Li and Kristal Delacruz created an online blog for which alumni could write articles to share experience or advice.
