LAUNCH: Launching your Leadership Development (part of the L.E.A.D.S. workshop series)

Course Length: 3 Hours

Minimum Number of Participants: 12
Maximum Number of Participants: 30

LAUNCH is a leadership course that is the launching point in your personal odyssey of leadership development and sets the basis for the four component modules to follow. Therefore, this module is a prerequisite for each of the other four components of the APO LEADS program.

Objectives:

  • Increase the participants' knowledge of leadership skills and principles.
  • Understand and utilize the principles of Servant Leadership and understand how it applies to Alpha Phi Omega.
  • Provide active strategies that participants can use in their chapter.
  • Increase participants' awareness of leadership opportunities in Alpha Phi Omega.

Content Sections:

  • What is Leadership and what is the difference between leadership and management skills?
  • What are the characteristics of a good leader?
  • How do we provide leadership through the Servant Leader[1] and Servant Chapter[2] models.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Dealing with, and adapting to change.
  • Goal setting using the SMARTER method.
