The Long-Term Strategic Planning Committee is chaired by the President. It works to monitor long-term goals that span more than one term and provide assessments and recommendations for reaching such goals.

Duties

  • Be chaired by the President.
  • Monitor development and goals of the Leadership Development Fund in preparation for future expenditures.
  • Inform the chapter of any upcoming opportunity to present a bid to host a sectional or regional conference.
  • Create bid proposals to host upcoming conferences.
  • To monitor progress toward qualifying for chapter awards, such as the Chapter of Excellence Award.

In Practice

The idea to have this committee was initially devised by Elyson Serrano at the end of his presidency in Spring 2007. While the committee did not immediately take off, the chapter voted to amend it into the chapter bylaws in January 2009.
