The Pledge Training Committee is chaired by the Pledge Parents.
Duties
- Formulate and execute, under approval of the chapter, the chapter pledge program
- Suggest the spring pledge class namesake for chapter approval
- Contact the elected spring pledge class honoree, if possible, for permission to use their name
- Determine pledge requirements
- Requirements shall include but not be limited to service hours and/or number of service projects for a given term
- Any changes in requirements from the previous term must be approved by a simple majority of members at a regular chapter meeting where quorum prevails
In Practice
- The Pledge Parent Committee typically consists of all Big Bro/Little Bro Chairs, Pledge Trainers, the Snake Chair, Ritual Chair, and any other positions appointed by Pledge Parents. In practice, this committee arranges the entire pledge program to educate the pledge class during pledge group meetings, pair pledges with Big Bros, arrange pledge-related rituals, and help with pledge-related projects.
