The Vigorous Sapling awards are given to pledges who go above and beyond their service requirement by fulfilling at least double the requirement (double hours, double projects). This honor was created by Chris Takemori and Michelle Jaromay, Service Vice Presidents of Hancock term. The SVPs, along with Alice Cheng, thought it'd be funny to make it sound kind of like a pledge version of the Sturdy Oak award, so what would be a good younger sounding version of Sturdy Oak? VIGOROUS SAPLING!
