Official Duties

Usually two officers whose duties are:

1. To give all pledges the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Alpha Phi Omega and grasp the spirit of this fraternity before joining.
2. To have charge of pledge meetings and the election of pledge class officers.
3. To oversee the execution of pledge and active activities concerning the pledging and activation rituals and all surrounding activities.
4. To have charge of materials to be used in all pledge rituals, rush, and grilling and work in conjunction with the Publicity committee to have an effective rush period.
5. To appoint rush, and ritual chairperson(s).
6. To present the chapter with any major prospective changes in the pledge training method for approval before implementation.
7. To prepare a record of their term for use by latter pledge parents.

In Practice

The Pledge parents foster the pledges for what comes ahead as an active. They also try their best to have all the pledges cross at the end of the term by providing help with quizzes and/or requirements.

Changes

Changes made during the Fall 2K10 Chandler Term:

• Requirements
  • Excomm interview requirements were changed from every Excomm member to one person from each position
  • Pledges required to write down duties of each Excomm position
  • Increased required amount of active interview in order to give actives more incentive to come out to events
  • Removed Group Service Projects as a requirement to cross
  • Added Chandler's Challenge as a requirement
  • Added End-Term Interviews as a requirement for pledges
• Strikes and Wild Cards
  • Amended strikes policy with more ways to get strikes
  • Added "Attend Nationals" as a way to get a Wild Card
  • Made Group Service Projects a Wild Card
