Convention

• Theme: "Leadership, Friendship and Service Snowballed into One"
• It was really frigging cold.
• Reference Committee Meetings and workshops were held in the adjoining fashion center's empty space. This led to a bunch of pissed off designers.
• The Banquet was held in the convention center several blocks away.
  • Being Minneapolis there was an enclosed skyway all the way there, but it twisted and turned enough to make it feel like miles.
• The 2000 Philadelphia bid gave out Hot Chocolate packets.

Major Legislation

• Re-elected Jack MacKenzie president
• Elected Dave Emery and Teri Sheets to the National Board
• Elected Beth Tom to Region X Director.
  • Yep, 3 National Board Members from Iota Phi, 2 of them from Close.
• Split Region X into Regions X and Region XI.

Memorable Moments

• Roger met the woman who would eventually become his wife there.
• The mad rush to get the hell out of Minneapolis on January 1st ahead of a major storm.
• Ernie doing the grind on Jimmie Bartle-Taylor. (the pictures do exist)
• The Section 4 End of Convention party in the Hotel and the mass destruction of sobriety that ensued.
• Learning how to smuggle people into the hotel on New Years Eve.
• Roger going out to the convenience store with a friend without a jacket in sub-zero weather because the store was a block away, and getting lost on the way there.
