*During Chandler(F2k10) term, Service VPs QA Nguyen and Kaycee Calip added "Man Miles".  Man Miles are awarded to drivers, who volunteer to carpool their vehicle to service projects.  If a person reaches 200 miles, they are rewarded half a hour of service in the "c" which the current project is classified.  Maximum of 1 hour can be earned through Man Miles.

Official Duties

The Service VP's official duties are of the following:

  1. To serve as chairperson of the Service Committee.
  2. To serve as president pro-tempore in the absence of the president.
  3. To facilitate communication with the pledge class through its elected pledge service coordinators.
  4. To appoint a service project chairperson for each service event.
  5. To compile a listing of up-to-date service contacts and project listings including evaluation reports on organizations and said projects for at least the prior four (4) terms.
  6. To make sure any national service report, such as the National Service Week report or the Spring Youth Service Day report, is submitted to the National Office on time.
  7. To create at least one project per year with one of Alpha Phi Omega's National Partners.
  8. To prepare a service term report for the next service vice president.
  9. To perform other duties as directed by the chapter president.
  10. To perform all other duties as specified by the National Handbook for Service Vice Presidents.
