History:

MCB120L Crew was founded during Fong-Quan Pledge Class by Matthew Lee and Peter Hoang. The crew includes all Fong-Quan Pledges in the Spring 2006 MCB120L course taught by Dr. Kenneth Hilt. The members included:

MCB120L Crew brought unity among the four members, especially when it came to studying for midterms and lab practicals or eating pho or Japanese food after lab. After spending 12+ hours in lab and lecture with one another per week, they became best of friends and more importantly, expert pipetters, gel-loaders, and assayers for enzymatic activity and protein concentration. Best frENZYMES forever! :)

Two important mottos of MCB120L Crew are:

  • pH = pKa + log(b/a)
  • IU/ml = [Abs/e*l]10^6*volume of assay*volume of sample/(volume of enz. * dilution factor)

Famous Quotes:

  • "If I was an idiot...I would let the column go dry." - Hilt
  • "are you with me?" - Hilt
  • "Cool?" - Hilt
  • "cute." - Hilt
  • "I want you all to be thinking at a higher level." - Hilt
  • "OhKay GuYs." - Ivanka Dilova impersonation during lab practical #2.
  • "I heart pipetting." - classical 120L saying.
  • "This is where you come from." - Hilt, in reference to the volume of enzyme that gave us that certain amount of activity. (Where the hell do we come from?)
