Spring Youth Service Day (SYSD) is an annual national Alpha Phi Omega service event. SYSD is intended to be Alpha Phi Omega's way of participating in the largest service event in the world. Chapters must submit a report for this event to remain in good standing.
SYSD is a challenge to chapters to maximize their resources to plan a project that
- Addresses the needs of youth in your community.
- Mobilizes and supports youth on a lifelong path of leadership and service.
- Educates the public about the contributions of APO and young people in the community as servant leaders. Therefore, participants are encouraged not to limit the project to only the members of their chapter. The project is meant to be opportunity to develop new relationships and build stronger communities by including other volunteers and organizations from campus and local neighborhoods.
