Alpha Phi Omega Iota Phi chapter was founded on May 27, 1951, with a founding brotherhood of thirty-four students, three scouting advisors, six faculty, and four honorary members. My the mid 1950's, however, the chapter was declared inactive.
Iota Phi was recharted in 1961 under the direction of Professor Harlan Pratt and his "Iota Phi Club," with nine rechartering members.
