Iota Phi's founding brothers included William A. Sparks, the first president of Iota Phi, as well as Harry A Laidlaw, Jr. (UCD Faculty), Claude Burton Hutchinson (UCD Dean, 66 years of age), and Knowles A. Ryerson (UCD Professor, 59 years of age).
