The Penguin Line

The Penguin Line is the awesomest of Close Family's lines. Made up of active-ish members who like to hang out with and make fun of each other on a regular basis, the Penguin Line is the lineage that pledges pray for decades to be in. Our jabs at each other are actually a unique expression of how much we care without displaying vulnerability underneath our paddles, which sport stylish, hand-painted miniature penguins. Despite some of our inner reluctance to show any obvious signs of affection, the Penguin Line is each of its members' source for support, trust, wisdom, and constant reassurance of individual awesomeness.

History and Origin

In the chilly season of Fall 2008, Emperor Ken Woo and his fellow Pledge SAAs were on the battlefields of Northern Europe, ready to fend off invasive forces from his growing empire. Suddenly, he and his sergeants encountered a giant dust storm riddling all their faces with cuts and clogged pores. Ken Woo, the only survivor, was left alone in the wilderness. He heard the dreadful calls of the enemy troops hundreds of miles away. With there being one too many troops, death seemed imminent for our kind and brave soul. Ken Woo got down on his knees and prayed for a speedy and painless reincarnation into Haley Zhao's silk bedsheets. But soft! There was additional commotion in the distance. He opened his eyes and saw something in his peripheral vision: hundreds of men in black tuxedos and green bowties swarming towards him. Wait no, thought Ken Woo as these creatures awkwardly waddled at the awkward speed of a motor bike - they were the fabled heroic creatures of the mid-day: the Penguins. Together, he and the Penguins fought off the enemy troops, destroyed the Nexus, and wrote this quest in the ancient scrolls of Alpha Phi Omega as the beginning of the epic, the fearless, the courageous: The Penguin Line.
