Region X covers the west coast of the United States. It is one of the last regions of Alpha Phi Omega to be instituted. Region X and Region XI were initially joined as one entity, but the two regions eventually split apart.

The Official '''Region X Logo''' was designed in February, 2007, by Paul De Leon of Gamma Beta Chapter at San Jose State University.

Like many of Alpha Phi Omega's logos, the Region X Logo is rich in symbolism. The Region Ten Text highlights the letters "I" and "O" to represent the numerical number "10." The four lines underlining the text is symbolic to the four sections in Region X (Sections 1, 2, 4, and 13). The "X" is used in the background to symbolize the roman numeral "10." The circle in the far background represents the fellowship circle of Alpha Phi Omega. The three circles containing the greek letters of Alpha Phi Omega represents the three principles: Leadership, Friendship, and Service. The colors of blue and gold is symbolic to the fraternity's colors. The white color adds contrast to the design to allow the blue and gold colors to stand out in pride.

===Region X Belly Dooley===

'''The Region X Belly Dooley''' is the official symbol of the Region X Director. It is a medallion worn around the neck of the current Region Director at all official functions and events. The medallion was supplied by Alpha Phi Omega's National Archivist, Bob Barkhurst, and the surrounding feathers were supplied by Past APO National President, Bobby Hainline. It was originally a hood ornament for a Cadillac, and since Bobby worked for Ford Motor Company, he had access to them.

The tradition began when Dave Emery was Region Director, and has continued ever since. The name, "Belly Dooley," originated when Dave wore the idol, being short in stature, it hung from his neck down to his belly. So one of the students coined the term, "Belly Dooley," and the name has stuck. The tradition is similar to the Alpha Phi Omega National President's Dumaflagee.

Each successive Region Director adds something to the Belly Dooley. The ribbon was contributed by Dave Emery, as well as the pouch in which it is stored. Allen Wong added the large Petitioning Pin to the back of the medallion. Allen's big focus was extension, and the Petitioning Pin was an error on the part of the jeweler. The pin was about 4 times too large in diameter for its intended use, so Alan found a home for it. Teri Sheets added the Phoenix National Convention Pin immediately beneath the medallion, commemorating the great success of the cooperative effort of Region X's chapters in 1996. Beth Tom added the realignment and state abbreviation beads. At the start of her term of office, Region X split off Region XI, and the five remaining states are Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Kevin Simpson added the star pins representing the section numbers, 1, 2, 4, and 13. The stars are scouting year pins.

Franklin Brodsky added a pin containing the Region X Logo, as seen above. The Belly Dooley was stolen in January of 2008, along with the backpack in which it was being carried. Franklin reconstructed the Belly Dooley from replica parts during 2008, and brought Belly Dooley II to the 2008 National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts.<ref name="regionxbellydooley">"[http://www.apor10.org/pmwiki.php/Main/RegionXBellyDooley]." Presented to an individual who has performed an outstanding service for Region X. Criteria for this award typically include such things as chairing a regional or sectional conference or fellowship event, serving on region staff, or performing some other valuable service to the region. This award is given at the discretion of the Regional Director and/or upon nomination of one or more individuals to the Region X Awards Chair. This award is presented at section conferences, regional conferences, or at the region meetings of the National Conference.

'''Namesake''' refers to a person for whom a pledge class is named after. Being a namesake is among the highest honors that the National Office or a chapter can bestow upon an individual. Note that a chosen namesake does not necessarily have to be a member of the voting chapter, nor even a member of [[Alpha Phi Omega]]. Whereas [[Iota Phi]] refers to its pledge classes by their namesake, other chapters may refer to their pledge classes in distinct ways, such as [[Gamma Gamma]], where pledge classes are referred to by the namesake's initials (e.g. "WK" for Wilfred Krenek, or "JAM" for Jack A. McKenzie). Some chapters do not use namesakes at all, and refer to their pledge classes in the order they pledge, using Greek letters (the first class would be Alpha, the second Beta, and so on, just as chapters are named).

==Selection==
In the Fall, the pledge class namesake is chosen by the National Office, and Iota Phi will name that pledge class after the national namesake. In the Spring, each [[chapter]] is free to choose their own namesake, so every chapter's Spring namesake will be different. At Iota Phi, it is among the [[Pledge Parents]]' duties to submit a proposal for a namesake for the Spring pledge class; however, ultimate authority in the decision rests with the chapter, and the Spring namesake is chosen via voting by the chapter. Generally, the pledge parent's recommendation is followed by the chapter, however.
