== Program Changes ==
* Pledge Parents, through the advice of President [[Jhonatan Paredes]], implemented a Strikes Policy modeled after [[Chi|Chi Chapter's]] policy. Under this system, a total of four strikes for any number of misdemeanors listed in pledge-signed contract resulted in that pledge DPing. Pledges received strikes for infractions like skipping meetings, and fractions of strikes for smaller infractions like not wearing their pledge pins. Strikes are not removable, and wildcards do not make up for them. However, pledges still had to use wildcards to make up some missed requirements like quizzes.
* Pledge Secretaries created a pledge newsletter called "Plexpressions" to keep pledges informed about important pledge-related information.
* Pledge Parents implemented a pledge website modeled after [[Chi|Chi Chapter's]] pledge website to allow pledges to keep track of their requirements and other important information such as the number of strikes accumulated.
* [[Ashish Bhatt]] and [[Derek Ng]] wrote significant amendments to the Chapter By-Laws to update them to reflect current practices.
** The Publicity Committee and Communications Committee were merged to exist under the Super Secretary Committee
** Membership VPs are now required to host at minimum one leadership event per term (e.g. ALW, CLW, a LEADS workshop)
** Created a Risk Management Committee to deal with potential risk management infractions. This committee supplements the Advisory Committee so pledges and actives can speak to people they may see more often and feel more comfortable communicating with.
** Created an official Long-Term Strategic Planning Committee chaired by the president to address issues that may span multiple terms, such as bids to host conferences, goals for the [[Leadership Development Fund]], and more.
* The [[Service Vice Presidents]] moved back to the negative hours system, as it was changed in the previous term.

Toy [[Pledges|pledge]] [[Allan Dacanay]] first described the move at the first annual [[Blow the Whistle on Asthma]] service project. [[Pledge Parents]] [[Thuong Tang]] and [[Almira Van]] offered [[webmaster]] [[Erik Staab]] a nominal reward to do the booty scoop as a challenge at the next [[Pledge Meeting|pledge meeting]] following the project.

Being a good sport, Erik decided to accept the offer. There was one problem: he did not know how to perform a booty scoop and is a terrible dancer. Luckily for him his neighbor, and [[Toy Class]] [[Pledges|pledge]], [[Laura Sandoval]] knew how. After rigorous physical and mental training from Laura, Erik was ready to perform the scoop.

Or was he? During the pledge meeting, Erik needed a recipient for [[Iota Phi]]'s first ever booty scoop. He offered two options: someone would volunteer to receive the scoop, or the challenger herself, Thuong Tang would be the receiver (the other challenger Almira is Erik's [[Big Bro|big bro]] and was an inappropriate candidate). [[Pledges]] and [[actives]] alike marveled at the idea of sending the popular [[Pledge Parent|pledge parent]] to face what others feared could only be sheer embarrassment.

And so it started. Down... up... finished. To her relief, the booty scoop was quick and painless, and [[Iota Phi]] was provided with yet another way to extend meetings to incredible length.

===The Legacy Continues===
Modern day [[Iota Phi]] still practices and enjoys the booty scoop. While its introducer only rarely performs the move, many other members of the fraternity practice it, as often as several times in a single meeting.

Many [[Iota Phi]] members have taken the booty scoop to far greater levels than Erik ever could. In particular, many have successfully lifted their butts above the level of their heads. Another great accomplishment are the double and triple scoops, where a single receiver takes on multiple performers simultaneously. Most notable for this is [[BirthdayComm]], which has its members and other volunteers perform concurrent scoops for almost every birthday occassion.

===Doing it for money===
Just as the original booty scoop was a challenge to make $5, booty scoops today are often done for incentives. The aforementioned [[BirthdayComm]] collects donations before performing scoops on birthday recipients. While a booty scoop is itself a reward, it is also a service, and should be compensated appropriately.

===Tips on performing a good scoop===
The best booty scoops come from passion and dedication. While there are a number of ways to improve one's booty scoop, the best way is to learn from those that do it best. If you know the booty scoop well and can contribute to the collective knowledge of the chapter, please post your advice here!

===The Legacy Continues===
Modern day [[Iota Phi]] still practices and enjoys the booty scoop. While its introducer only rarely performs the move, many other members of the fraternity practice it, as often as several times in a single meeting.

Many [[Iota Phi]] members have taken the booty scoop to far greater levels than Erik ever could. In particular, many have successfully lifted their butts above the level of their heads. Another great accomplishment are the double and triple scoops, where a single receiver takes on multiple performers simultaneously. Most notable for this is [[BirthdayComm]], which has its members and other volunteers perform concurrent scoops for almost every birthday occassion.

===Doing it for money===
Just as the original booty scoop was a challenge to make $5, booty scoops today are often done for incentives. The aforementioned [[BirthdayComm]] collects donations before performing scoops on birthday recipients. While a booty scoop is itself a reward, it is also a service, and should be compensated appropriately.

The main purpose of Secret Week is so that the pledges can get to know the members of their families better, as well as receive clues to figure out who their [[Big Bro|big bro(s)]] is/are.

It is called "Secret Week" because a pledge does not initially know who their [[Big Bro|big bro(s)]] is/are, and will not be officially told until [[Big Bro Revealing]]. Not only that, but the pledges should not know where they will be going every night nor what they will receive as a gift until it comes about.

Every [[family]] has its own events and gifts. Some events and gifts are traditional gifts, but ultimately, where to go and what to give during Secret Week are up to the [[Family Chairs|family chairs]].
